Nomads & Urban Dwellers is an interdisciplinary creative company founded by artistic director, architect-choreographer Vicky Spanovangelis. The company integrates Cultural Practice, Performance, Research and Design.  Our creative collective works at the intersection of Film, Choreography, Architecture, Urban Space, Cultural Heritage, and Digital Media Technologies. British-led and international projects cover 18years’ experience of creative performance, architecture, education, and research. Our projects include site-specific performances, design for performance spaces, screen media for dance, ancestry and cultural heritage community projects, arts & culture platforms with a special interest in museum event architectures.

Originally set up as a research platform in 2003, Nomads & Urban Dweller’s innovative creative research practice brings together the somatic practices of both architecture and performance. My background and training as an architect and dancer led me to develop an integrated approach to design practice with emphasis on choreography, movement, human scale, and the body as a design tool. Furthermore, the importance of the human experience of architecture in making spaces socially integrated, accessible, inclusive, and sustainable for all in the community, education, and the arts.
